TGIF (Today God is First) Dustbuster Bicycle Team

What started as the brainchild of three passionate cyclists around a camping fire during a church mannekamp turned into a fund of hope.
Through the initiative and leadership of TGIF Durbanville Bergsig a team of Christian cyclists were brought together in 2011 to raise funds per kilometre (each is sponsored) for the Church’s soup kitchen.
Today this group is known as the TGIF Dustbusters. Each step forward is taken for faith and charity – for people who can no longer take part in the physical joys of life.
Solms van Niekerk got LiebenLogistics involved in Participation and Sponsorships at TGIF in 2012.
A number of LiebenLogistics cyclists and their families are now part of the dedicated Dustbuster Team; they are: Solms and Alitha van Niekerk, Miempie and Jaco Bekker, Vivian and Brenda Turner and Chrisna and Marius Herselman.
Milestones so far

• In 2012 a group of 15 cyclists raised R70 000 during a five-day detour.
• In 2013 26 cyclists took on the Cederberg and despite extremely difficult and challenging circumstances raised R80 000 for an old-age home and an organisation for people who suffer from quadriplegia.
• In 2014 40 cyclists continued the TGIF journey in a seven-day, 605 km detour from Prince Albert via the Swartberg Pass, Calitzdorp and Seweweekspoort Pass. They raised R110 000, which was divided between the above-mentioned organisations.
• In 2015, 26 cyclists completed 368 km in 5 Days. The tour started with 3 enduring days in the Riversdale area. The remainder of the 2 days shifted to the coast and was completed in Gansbaai. The team raised R100,000 and the Funds were shared by Huis Andries Olivier, Huis Jabes and TGIF Durbanville.
• 2016 Celebrates the 5th Anniversary of TGIF. This year, 30 cyclists completed 342 km in 5 Days. The tour started in Stilbaai and continued and finished in Heidelberg, Cape Province and area. Garcia and Gysmanshoek mountain passes were among the enduring challenges of the brave cyclists. The team raised R122,267.00  and the Funds were shared again by a Quadriplegic and a Domestic Violence Establishment in Durbanville.
